Educational Attainment by Race in South Carolina

In South Carolina in 2000, 19.1 percent of the White population age 25 and over had an educational attainment of less than a high school diploma. This compares with 35.1 percent of the African American population and 31.5 percent of the Other race population.

8.2 percent of the White population age 25 and over in South Carolina held a graduate or professional degree in 2000, compared with 3.1 percent of the African American population and 9.6 percent of the other race population.
