Earnings by Sex in South Carolina

Median Earnings by Sex
The median earnings for women in 45 of the 46 counties in South Carolina were below the national average of $18,957 in 1999. The counties with the highest median earnings for women were Lexington ($20,628), Greenville ($18,797), and Richland ($18,681). The counties with the lowest median earnings for women were Williamsburg ($13,667), Colleton ($14,070), and Lee ($14,526).
The median earnings for men in 41 of the 46 counties in South Carolina were below the national average of $29,458 in 1999.
